Our client located in the Cambridge is looking for a CPA with a proven track record as a top performer within a medium sized to large employer. This role reports directly to the Managing Director. The Controller will lead the finance and accounting, office administration, and IT support.

Department: Accounting
Locations: Cambridge
Compensation: $85,000 to $110,000

Responsibilities of the Controller include:

  • Directing and overseeing the financial statement preparation and analysis of monthly reporting packages to senior management
  • Overseeing the annual preparation of budget and forecasts
  • Treasury management and maintenance of the cash flow forecast
  • Managing the year-end audit process
  • Recommending benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performances of divisions and departments
  • Provide leadership and support to AR, AP, order entry and warehouse departments
  • Supervision, training and development of accounting and finance staff

Requirements:

  • An accounting designation or (qualified by experience) with 5 plus years of experience working in senior accounting role in a medium to large corporate environment, preferable in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • University degree or college diploma in business and/or accounting
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Above average communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Hands on ability
  • Strong computer skills including Advanced level MS Excel skills and overall solid system skills
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record in highlighting and resolving issues in a timely manner, questioning results, challenging the status quo, initiating, and successfully implementing change
  • Creative problem solving and effective decision making
