Our client, a financial services company in Guelph is looking to add a Finance Business Partner to its team to support its growing operations. Reporting to the VP, Business Partnering this role offers very meaningful and interesting work including direct interaction with Senior Management across several business units.
The responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner include the support of and collaboration with business partners in financial analysis and decision making. This individual ensures business decisions are grounded in sound and balanced financial analysis and is a decision expert, demonstrating an ability to deeply understand the business area and drive insights, analysis and recommendations. This individual will work closely with corporate business partners at all levels of leadership to lead the financial analysis required to support decision making along with the development of KPIs to track benefits realization.
Responsibilities include:
- Interview business partners at various levels to identify, define and help support decision making
- Calculate and analyze scenarios and provide a financial recommendation to business partners
- Research and execute appropriate financial management tools and analytic techniques that assist in achieving strategic financial management objectives such as growth, profit, expense management and ROE results
- Perform high quality financial analysis and create financial frameworks to support in business partner decision making. Ensure all business decisions are supported by high quality financial analysis with appropriate data, analytical tools, frameworks and standard methodologies.
- Align with business partners on desired outcomes and track the achievement of these outcomes, with the development of reporting mechanisms.

Requirements:
- Five years plus of proven experience in strategic financial analysis, preferably in the financial services industry
- An accounting designation or are close to completion of a designation
- University degree in business or MBA
- Strong computer skills including Advanced level MS Excel skills and overall solid system skills
- Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Demonstrated advanced financial quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate well with senior management
- Proven track record in highlighting and resolving issues in a timely manner, questioning results, challenging the status quo, initiating, and successfully implementing change
- Creative problem solving and effective decision making
