Senior Accountant

Salary: $60,000 to $75,000

Location: Burlington, Ontario

Our client, a growing boutique advisory accounting firm, is committed to client service focused on assisting private companies and their owners. They believe their people are key to their success. Our client, located in the dynamic city of Burlington, is offering an exciting career opportunity for a results-oriented Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. Your accountabilities and responsibilities for this role include: preparing Notice to Reader and Review Engagements, including completion of working papers, adjusting journal entries, and financial statements in accordance to firm standards; keeping up-to-date on the content and practical applications of accounting and assurance standards, and having the know-how to access and research professional and technical materials; proactively identifying engagement issues, and recommended solutions; Identifying process improvements for future assignments and sharing this knowledge and experience with other team members, including less experienced staff; complete Personal and Corporate Tax Returns, Trust Returns, and T4 and T5 tax slips; Assisting their tax professionals with accounting and analytical support relating to a variety of complex tax transactions; communicating effectively with clients, government agencies, partners and staff; Assisting and supervising junior assurance staff; and working cooperatively and effectively with other staff members. You are a CPA (and/or legacy CA, CMA, CGA); 3 - 5 years of relevant public practice experience(Candidates without this will not be contacted); Proficient in MS Office, CaseWare, and Taxprep; Public accounting experience including Review Engagements and the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns; Demonstrate a high commitment to quality client service, quality of work, compliance with the Firmís policies and procedures, professional ethics and integrity; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; solid oral and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills & client service skills; Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
